One Pin away from Popping your AI Strategy

The AI expectations are massive. The business strategy is sitting on top. Everything looks impressive.

And then culture walks in with a pin.

It doesn’t matter how ambitious your AI roadmap is. It doesn’t matter how much budget you secured. It doesn’t matter how good your tech stack looks.

If your culture isn’t ready, none of it survives first contact with reality.

Culture is the thing nobody puts on the project plan. But it’s the thing that kills the project.

It shows up as:

  • Teams that won’t share data because it’s “theirs”
  • Leaders who sponsor AI publicly but block change privately
  • People who see AI as a threat, not a tool
  • Middle management that quietly deprioritizes what they didn’t ask for “We tried something like this before and it didn’t work”

You can inflate expectations all you want. But if the culture underneath can’t carry them, you’re not building a strategy. You’re inflating a balloon in a room full of pins.

The companies that succeed with AI don’t just invest in technology. They invest in readiness.

In change management before the rollout. In trust before the tool. In people before the platform.

Your AI strategy is only as strong as the culture it lands in.
